缅甸328地震捐助途径 Mutual Aid for Myanmar

The Sagaing region, a battleground of fierce clashes between resistance forces and the military junta, is among the areas most severely affected by the earthquake that hit Myanmar on 28 March. 80% of buildings have been destroyed. However, just hours after the earthquake struck, civilians in Chaung-U and Pauk, towns located at the epicenter in Sagaing, were subjected to two drone strikes by the military. Due to communication restrictions and blocked roads, relief supplies struggle to reach Sagaing, and media attention remains scarce. The full extent of casualties and damage remains unclear. Myanmar’s resistance forces and civil society are urgently calling on the international community to establish direct donation channels with local grassroots organizations rather than relying on institutions like the United Nations, as funds funneled through official channels risk being exploited by the military to harm civilians.

Currently, frontline rescue volunteers in Sagaing are making continuous appeals for external assistance. This donation channel has been set up by Thailand-based, exiled Burmese Muslim activists from Sagaing. It is directly connected to local Muslim self-help networks in Sagaing, ensuring that essential supplies—food, clean drinking water, and female hygiene products—reach those in desperate need.
